"순간 있는그대로 부정적 감정 열다"
내 안에 부정적 감정들을 회피하지 않고 그 순간
그 마음을 있는 그대로 열어 마주한다는 의미로 이번 전시에
4가지 단어의 뜻을 합해 ‘MONO’라는 이름을 붙였다.
모노톤 (monotone)의 컬러들을 주로 사용하여 시네마적인
요소들을 담아낸 이번 콘셉트는 블랙, 화이트,
그레이를 메인으로 표현해냈다.
The exhibition was named "MONO" by combining the meanings
of the four words above, meaning that you do not avoid
your emotions, even if they may be negative,
but open your mind as is, to face them.
"face my feelings as they are!"
To further express the concept of this gallery
and to capture its cinematic elements, mainly black, white
and gray colors were used to create a monotone color palette.

우리는 영화를 통해 많은 영감을 받고
공감받고 위로를 받는다.
때로는 장면을 통해, 대사를 통해 우리의 기억에
남겨지며 그것이 인생에 반영이 되며
변화가 일어나기도 한다.
We get a lot of inspiration and comfort
from movies.
Sometimes certain scenes and lines
remain in our memories,
can be reflected in our lives,
and inspire change
한 개인의 삶은 영화보다도 더 영화 같을 때가
많다고 느낀다.
모든 개인의 삶 속에는 희로애락이 존재함을 인식하며
그 감정들 중에서도 가장 마주하기
두려운 감정들에 대해 직면하고 소통하고 싶었다.
I feel like a lot of the time an individual’s life can be
more like a movie than a movie itself.
Emotions like joy, anger, sorrow and happiness
exist in everyone’s life -
This time I wanted to look at the emotions that are
the hardest to face, and show them to everybody
특히 나의 기억에 인상적으로 남겨졌던
영화 속 대사들과 나의 감정들을 귀결시켜
이번 작품들을 만들어냈다.
Especially quotes from the movies, that left
an impression on me,
as well as my emotions, were brought down
to canvas and expressed in the art works
of this “MONO” gallery collection.
RODA
[ Artist PROFILE]
RODA는 작곡가이자 래퍼인 다방면에서 활동하고 있는 아티스트이다.
RODA is a multi-faceted artist, who is also active as a composer and rapper.
이번 전시회가 세번째 갤러리로서 ‘The nutcracker’을 시작으로 ‘SHACKLES’까지 선보이며 활발하게 활동해오고 있다
“MONO” is Roda’s third gallery collection, after its first two installments “The Nutcracker” and “SHACKLES”.
2021 미국 ATLANTA와 DALLAS에서도 전시회를 개최했으며 온라인 갤러리를 통해 세계팬들과도 함께 소통해오고 있다.
gallery De Roda also held exhibitions in Atlanta and Dallas in the U.S in 2021, and has been communicating with global fans through its online gallery.
